CHANGE: TUESDAY, JAN. 26, WILL BE A FULLY-REMOTE INSTRUCTION DAY
Tuesday, January 26, is the first day of the 2nd semester. Many students will have new classes, new teachers, and new classmates. In order for teachers to be able to meet all of their new students online and to provide course expectations, in-person hybrid classes for 10th grade students will not be held on Tuesday, Jan. 26. Instead, students in all grades will have a mandatory, fully-remote learning day with synchronous sessions. In-person hybrid classes for 11th grade students begin Wednesday, Jan. 27. In-person hybrid classes for 9th grade students begin Thursday, Jan. 28 (see change below). Friday, January 29th will continue as an asynchronous learning day with learning centers still available.
CHANGE: IN-PERSON CLASS DAYS FOR 9th AND 12th GRADE TO SWITCH
Beginning with the 2nd semester, in-person days for 9th and 12th grade will switch. Mondays will be for 12th grade in-person classes, and Thursdays will be for 9th grade in-person classes. In-person classes for 9th grade students begin Thursday, Jan. 28. This change will be in effect until the district shifts to the new hybrid, 2-day-per week schedule. In-person for 12th grade will be Mondays; for 10th grade will be Tuesdays; for 11th grade will be Wednesdays; for 9th grade will be Thursdays.
HALF-WAY POINT IN THE SCHOOL YEAR
The first semester and 2nd marking period end this week – we want our students to finish strong. Please encourage your student to complete all assigned work and to prepare for end-of-course assessments. It is hard to imagine that we are at the half-way point of this school year. Despite the frustrations and disappointments, our students are meeting the challenges this pandemic has created. We are proud of them and are hopeful that the second half of the school year allows for more of them to return to in-person classes with their own teachers.
Please continue to wash your hands, practice social distancing, and wear a face mask in public to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
