We are pleased to welcome Rahsheem Hollis as a new assistant principal at Hodgson Vo-Tech High School! Mr. Hollis fills the vacancy created when former Hodgson Assistant Principal Dr. Christine Colihan was named principal in July. He joins Ms. Leah Anderson and Mr. Michael Paoli to complete the school’s administrative team, and his areas of responsibility include supervising science, social studies, student advisors, driver’s education, physical education, and crisis response.
Mr. Hollis has 20 years of experience as an educator and has served in the NCC Vo-Tech School District since 2006 as a student advisor at Delcastle Technical High School. Prior to that, he spent two years as the dean of students at Christiana High School. He was formerly an English teacher at George Read Middle School and a teacher and interim vice principal at a charter school in Philadelphia.
“I am determined to make a difference – instilling hope and helping to empower others to reach their fullest potential,” said Mr. Hollis. “I look forward to eventually meeting our terrific Hodgson students and families face to face, but until that time, I am eager to learn more about our students and their individual aspirations.”
Mr. Hollis earned a Masters of Education in both School Leadership and Applied Technology in Education from Wilmington University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Cheyney University.
“Mr. Hollis comes to Hodgson with a wealth of knowledge about our amazing school district and working with students and families to support achievement,” said Hodgson Principal Christine Colihan. “We are very pleased he is a part of our Silver Eagle team.”
